The small community of Bull Creek is a built up area with roughly 40 houses. Bull Creek is also known as Glenledi or Moanariri. Public access is generously offered for free, provided that people respect the area.
The beach is separated by the rocky creek mouth. One side is relatively calm, while the other has formidable waves. The rock pools are fun to explore and the bay provides a safer place to swim.
Explore deeper inland from the settlement and you’ll find lush, green picnic areas and the start of an hour long bush walk.
The strong community spirit and enchanting housing style really give Bull Creek a classic New Zealand feeling. Those wanting to experience more of the area should take a short drive to Chrystalls Beach or Taieri Mouth.
To get there, drive out to Milton, past the Dunedin International Airport. Turn towards the coast and follow the signs to Bull Creek.
